Jurlique Refreshes Rare Rose — Here's Where It Sits in Your Routine
For anyone whose routine leans on botanical hydration — or who got burned by a past reformulation that quietly changed the texture of a familiar bottle — the real question is whether the new lineup actually delivers, and how to slot it in without disrupting what already works.
What's in the line
The refresh centres on three SKUs: the Skin Plumper serum, the Sheer Shield emulsion, and the Glow Getter face oil. All three are built around farm-grown Jurlique Rose and Intense Rose from the brand's Adelaide property, supported by rosehip oil, marshmallow root, calendula and lavender. The range is positioned as 100 per cent naturally derived, with what Jurlique calls a Triple-Action Hydration system engineered to push moisture deeper and hold it longer — the brand reports up to 120 hours of hydration across the routine.
How to layer it without overloading
Dry, dehydrated complexions are the target, and the sequence matters more than the product count:
- AM: Cleanse, then press the Skin Plumper serum into damp skin to maximise plumping, before sealing with the Sheer Shield emulsion. The emulsion has a cushioned, milky slip — it absorbs fast and, per the clinical data Jurlique cites, lifts hydration by roughly 53 per cent on application.
- PM: Repeat the serum and emulsion steps, then cap the routine with the Glow Getter oil as the final occlusive. Despite being an oil, it's formulated as a dry-finish product, sinking in rather than sitting on the surface — the brand's overnight data points to a 34 per cent hydration lift by morning.
The trio is available nationwide through pharmacy and beauty retail, so restocking isn't a barrier.
Troubleshooting the switch
If you came in from the previous Rare Rose formulas, watch for three things in the first two weeks: a texture shift in the emulsion (described as more cushioned than the original), any change in scent intensity from the botanical distillates, and tightness around the jawline or cheeks — usually a sign the oil isn't getting enough time to absorb before the next step. On humid nights, drop the Face Oil and reintroduce it once the barrier settles.
Reformulations are rarely risk-free, but this one keeps the botanical backbone intact. The win is in the layering order: serum first to buffer, emulsion to lock in, oil to occlude — and only where the skin is actually thirsty.
